Our Challenge
Despite Our Best Efforts...
We find ourselves in a very sad position with our local planning department and they are now threatening us with a huge fine of £20,000.
We want to challenge their decision, but we need your help!
Our farm sits in the heart of rural Suffolk, tucked in 12 acres of beautiful countryside, in a fast developing village called Thurston.
The farm is a small farm which buzzes with life from the bee hives to the vegetable patch, with staff and volunteers making up a growing team of like minded people enjoying the land and developing a self sustainable environment.
It is split in to two areas, firstly the animal enclosure which hosts a rich environment for both work experience and individuals that benefit from personal development for many different reasons. Second are the growing areas where we grow a huge selection of plants, fruit and vegetables to sell in our farm shop and online to the local community.
Unfortunately we have lost an appeal for planning permission for a few things on the farm which will have a huge, detrimental impact on the farms future.
Whilst we are in the process of resolving what we can, we believe some of the decisions made by the council are unfair and we really need some support to try and prove to them why we believe this!

Our Story
How You Can Help
Sign Our Petition
The council has stated their decision is considered proportionate, reasonable and in the public interest. Therefore we have decided to give the public the opportunity to give their views to us and to the council if they so wish. You can do this by signing our petition, and if you can donate, however little, we would appreciate it as it will help us fight this cause.

Our Community

Care & Grow Club
The site is home to a Care and Grow Club for youngsters either home educated, pre school age or from a local authority outside learning provision, where they can enjoy learning about animal care and growing their own produce.
The farm is accredited by LEAF (Linking Environment and Farming) which enables us to carry out educational visits for students to help secure them a better working future.

Community
Over the past 6 years the site has become a hub of the local community hosting groups from Princes Trust, The Duke of Edinburgh awards, Cubs, Scouts, Brownies, Schools, Colleges, Universities as well as International students.

Volunteers
We are proud members of Social Farms and Gardens, Royal Horticultural Society Gardening Club, Community Action and we are registered with the Suffolk County Councils Community Directory.
The site employs 7 members of staff and up to 100 volunteers every week and we really don’t want to lose any of them.
